Art Deco Rebellion

Posted by: • Date:

Our grandparents and great-grandparents were quite the rebellious ones no matter what they say now! Defying the prim modesty and overbearing rules and overdone ornamentation, the Guys & Dolls of the “Lost Generation” in the years after The Great War reveled in the wild world of Flappers, Jazz, Hootch, Hollywood, and the clean industrial-inspired lines for their buildings, clothing, furnishings, artwork and all that surrounded them.

I’ve created a huge, multi-part series of icons representing my personal interpretation and tribute to those early masters of Art Deco design. Because of the sheer number of icons, I’m breaking down the series into bite-size chunks with a new group to be posted daily. (If you’re afraid you’ve missed a prior posting, select: “Icons” and “Art Deco” from the CATEGORIES drop-down menu in the right-hand sidebar.)

So without any further ado …. 23 Skidoo!
